The Role:


The main purpose of the this role is to ensure the packing machines run efficiently at all times, whilst helping to ensure all products are produced in line with both company and customer requirements.

Production Finisher report into the line lead, however will be working under the supervision of the Machine Technician.

  • Machine monitoring
  • Machine set up
  • Packing
  • Palletising
Equipment knowledge - ability to operate all functions of packing and autocoding equipment:

  • Awareness of safety features and controls
  • Carries out film changes in packing
  • Able to carry out cleaning tasks on designated machinery
  • Able to operate machinery to ensure continuous running
  • Can carry out effective high standard cleans and change over's
Health, safety & hygiene - ensures all health, safety & hygiene procedures are followed:

  • Maintains clean as you go policy at all times
  • Reports any defects to Line Manager and Shift Engineers and follows company policy
  • Ensures that COSHH procedures are followed
  • Ensure safety of self and others and promotes a safety ownership culture within peer group
  • Reports any accidents, incidents or near misses to Line Manager within the shift they occur

Managing performance - achieves set targets:

  • Meets waste targets
  • Meets efficiency targets
  • Meets output targets
Product knowledge - ability to correctly identify information on packs and labels:

  • Understands product codes
  • Able to understand product specification

Recording information - understanding and completing relevant documentation:

  • Ensures that packed product is correctly labelled and identified
  • Completes cleaning documentation when required

Additional responsibilities and duties:

  • Address issues proactively and respond's to routine issues with mínimal discretion
  • Contribute positively to the continuous improvement culture at all times
  • Follows all company safety policies and procedures
  • Owns quality and safety as part of a daily job
  • Participate in training requirements identified by line leads and/or Trainers
  • Participates in monthly 1to1 meetings with Line Manager
  • Participation and buyin to business requirements with regards to improvement
  • Recognise potential problems and be able to stand back and provide ideas to resolve
  • Responds to change productively and handles others duties as required
  • Understands the customer's needs
  • Working in other areas of manufacturing as and when required
