Job description Providing support for young people aged between 16-25 years old struggling to maintain engagement and tenancies to prevent homelessness.


Job title YES Housing Caseworker Tendring


Job info. This will include managing a case load with complex and differing support needs but will often require 1-2-1 engagement while liaising with the large number of external partners YES work with.

To engage with young people in supported housing and/or residential accommodation to ensure appropriate and safe placement.

To work with Tendring District Council and partners to highlight any concerns or risks to young people's safety.


Charity Context. YES is a youth charity offering support and advice on a range of issues from housing and homelessness, teenage pregnancy, and mental health counselling. YES supports all young people between the ages of across North East Essex.


YES has recently expanded its Tendring office and has received investment for a new supported housing role by the Nationwide building society.

This will be a part-time, 2 year - fixed term contract.


Main responsibilities
To support young people who are experiencing/at risk of homelessness through offering support, advice and signposting.

To support young people in gaining secure, appropriate tenancies.


To support young people to understand the benefit system by providing advice and information on housing, benefits and the law.


To support young people in filling out forms, collecting relevant and required information and in putting together the paperwork required for them to claim homelessness support at the right level.

Be active in maintaining partnership working with Tendring District Council.

Support refugee engagement alongside refugee charity RAMA.


To signpost to our inhouse counselling service where appropriate and or other partner services such as DWP, Job Centre, CVS Tendring.

To attend regular staff meetings and one to one supervision with the manager.

To complete reports and evaluations of service as required by the manager and funding bodies.

To always work with an awareness of YES policies and procedure.

£12,480.00 per year
