We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Support Worker to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Wealstun is a Category C men's prison, located near the village of Thorp Arch in West Yorkshire.

Which is based 30 minute from Leeds, and 5 minutes from the A1 just off Boston Spa.

This position is full time, you'll receive an annual salary up to £23,383 per annum - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing:

As a Pharmacy Checker, your responsibilities will vary. You will

Be responsible for the second checking of all controlled drugs under the direct supervision of the Pharmacy Technician.
Make accurate entries into controlled drug registers.
Support and provide a timely and efficient pharmaceutical service to the prison wings.
You will contribute to the development of and support implementation of medicine management strategy and associated services and projects
You may be required to take on a role of working across multiple Pharmacy Services if and when required.

Medicines handing experience desirable not essential
English and Maths GCSE Grade C/4 or above/equivalent E.g. Functional skills Level
Excellent communication skills
Have the ability to recognise your own value and that of others
Good IT skills and IT literacy
A nonjudgemental approach and compassionate approach
Ability to work within a busy environment
Ability to work with mínimal supervision whilst following policy and procedures
