Buyer

Key Deliverables - Indirect Procurement:

  • Manage relationship with indirect suppliers and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Manage RFQ, negotiate and recommend supplier selections, driving a competitive supplier base.
  • Procure CAPEX, Equipment, Facility products & services, tooling and other clean room equipment as required.
  • Negotiate and execute contracts related to CAPEX, Equipment's and Services at the best price and terms.
  • Research and evaluate areas of opportunity for costs reductions and efficiency within the business
  • Develop ideas and strategies to improve supply chain efficiency and work towards continuous improvement.
  • Ensure suitable ongoing contractual coverage are maintained for key services suppliers.
  • Improve indirect procurement processes and ensure adherence to Supply Chain policies/governance
  • Liaise with internal stakeholder on demand and future requirements for equipment and services.
  • This role will be required to support the Direct Procurement team if and when required by the business.

Supplier Account Management:

  • Manage open purchase orders, acknowledgements and delivery to minimize shortages to program / project.
  • Control rejects and unapproved services, ensure corrective action is put in place to eliminate problem recurrence.
  • Conduct periodic business review meetings with key service suppliers where applicable.
Risk Mitigation & Cost Reduction

  • Identify new and alternate services and or equipment suppliers to ensure project requirement is not at risk.
  • Continually reduce cost without compromising quality and ontime delivery
  • Continually pursue material / Service cost reductions whilst maintaining quality, compliance and ontime delivery.
  • Negotiate improved terms & conditions, payment terms, etc.
General

  • Identify improvements to processes and support the implementation of MRP changes (e.g SAP)
  • Support colleagues where required using MRP system to identify materials required and then ensure that PO's are created, placed and delivered ontime.
  • Contribute to the preparation of data for periodic reporting to Corporate Operations.
  • Attend Internal key Reviews and Production meetings and take ownership of Indirect purchasing issues
  • Support the Company Values, the Quality Management System (QMS) and Protect Company Intellectual Property (IP) in line with agreed strategy.
Essential Skills

  • Experience of indirect procurement within a manufacturing company.
  • Knowledge and experience of using an MRP system.
  • Good written & verbal communication skills.
  • Contract negotiation and implementation skills.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Competent with MS Office software package.
  • Flexibility & resourcefulness.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure
  • Diligent and well organised.
  • Competent in RFQ process, Quote analysis, price analysis, negotiation and contract award process.
Desirable

  • Experience of working in a hightech environment.
  • Ability to read Engineering Drawings.
  • CIPS qualified.
  • Experience of writing contracts.
  • HNC or equivalent qualification in an Engineering or related discipline.
  • Experience using SAP platform
