Apprenticeship programme


During this Level 3 Engineering apprenticeship programme, we will help you to develop your practical skills and knowledge required for you to succeed in this role as well as your future career.

Throughout the 4- month programme, you will continue to developyour behaviours such as team working, problem-solving and customer focus.


As well as gaining a broad range of technical and professional knowledge and experience, you'll also gain academic and vocational qualifications such as a Level 3 Technical (knowledge) Certificate BTEC in Engineering, NVQ (competency) in Engineering, aswell as Health and Safety (IOSH) Awareness Training.


What will you be doing?


You will be trained, coached and mentored to carry out the on-site operation and maintenance support on a range of industrial utility equipment, including combined heat and power, steam boilers, pumps and motors, water treatment, filtration systems and chemicaldosing,...


Working alongside a technician you will:

  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on steam boilers and utility plants, compressed air systems, cooling systems, pumps and motors.
  • Assist with routine steam boiler operational tasks to comply with legislation and company procedures.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities with the ability to multiskill where possible with a proven trade bias.
  • Carry out fault diagnosis on electrical LV control and power circuits.
  • Regular monitoring, supervision and interaction of key subcontractors.

What are we looking for?

  • A minimum of 4 GCSEs Grade 4 (C or equivalent) or above/predicted to include Maths & English
  • Good communication skills
  • Be able to work a flexible system to meet the demands of the business and team
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Logical thinker
  • Attention to detail
