We're seeking a caring and compassionate Care Assistant with good communication skills to work nights at Kilkenny House, a sheltered housing scheme in Westcroft.

Kilkenny House has 40 flats where we provide 24-hour care for frail elderly people with a care need. We help our tenants live independently in their own flats with our support.

Role Responsibilities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Assist with personal care delivered in accordance with the agreed care plan.
  • Ensure clear, concise and accurate records are kept of each visit.
  • Medication administering.
  • Always being aware of health and safety and following the risk assessment to ensure tenants and carers safety and report any concerns to manager, team leaders and night seniors.
  • Focus on enabling individuals to maintain or regain skills where appropriate and in partnership with other agencies.
  • Encouraging social interaction.
  • End of life care.
  • An Enhanced DBS will be required prior to starting should you be successful.
  • Supportive towards team members and tenants and have a flexible approach.
  • Caring and compassionate with a cando attitude.
  • Able to work alone or as part of a team.
  • Able to work in partnership with others.
  • Can commit to undertake mandatory training and is willing to learn new skills.
  • Able to speak and write good English.

Our roles are either designated 'site based' or 'home based'.
