Legal Technologist:

In December 2023 Joe Cohen joined the firm to lead the legal innovation strategy and deployment.

With strong buy in and investment from the partnership, we are delighted to be forming our new Advanced Client Solutions (ACS) team.

The team will be working with lawyers and business services in all areas to turn Charles Russell Speechlys into one of the most demonstrably forward-thinking law firms in the city by the end of 2025.

Once at capacity, the function will be 18 people and will be made up of the following teams.

Legal Project Management
Process Improvement
Alternative Delivery
Legal Technology
Product Development

This role will sit within the Legal Technology team and will report into the Head of Legal Technology.

Roles and Responsibilities

Manage projects and tasks in direct response to business needs within the firm, delivering within agreed timeframes and keeping to expected budget.
Act as first line contact for users should they need assistance with daytoday technology queries with particular focus supporting our Construction, Real Estate and Disputes practice and related technologies.
Promote, grow and support usage of all of our Legal Technology within the firm and with clients.
A strong and enthusiastic advocate for the use of Legal Technology developing clear processes for the introduction and embedding of Legal Technology in new areas.
Work collaboratively with Learning & Development and the Head of Legal Technology to develop training and best practice around Legal Technology for lawyers and others in the firm.
Work collaboratively with IT and the Product Development team to develop practical solutions for client facing business issues.
Comply with all relevant legal and regulatory obligations including the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Standards and Regulations, and Principles.

Person Specification

Experience and proficiency in the use of Contract Express, HighQ, DocuSign or similar an advantage
Knowledge of Orbital Witness, Landscape SDLT, InfoTrack and other property search tools an advantage
A clear aptitude for working with new and emerging technologies
Experience in managing and delivering projects
Previous experience in legal technology or in an administrative role supporting construction, real estate and disputes matters within a law firm
The ability to develop a deep understanding of how lawyers work in order to advise on how Legal Technology can improve existing processes or client experience
Arabic language skills an advantage
Ability to collaborate effectively, professionally, and diplomatically across departments.
