Group Internal Auditor opportunity within a prominent general insurance organisation. My client are looking to grow a new inhouse internal audit function.

What would you be responsible for in this role?

  • To deliver high quality, commercially focused audits and advisory reviews that fulfil the audit objectives, whilst managing stakeholder expectations
  • To complete assignment audit planning, inclusive of discussion with Senior Management, in respect of scope and timing of reviews as well as drafting the audit programme
  • To recommend and promote practical and costeffective actions for improving the effectiveness of risk management process and internal control environment, and to monitor and ensure the successful completion of these action plans
  • To assist in production of Internal Audit Reports for each area of review
  • To assist in producing information and analysis for presentation to the Audit Committee
  • To assist in building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders to encourage open discussion and commitment to problem solving

What would we like to see in you?

  • Previous external or extensive internal audit experience preferably within General Insurance and/or within the Financial Services sector
  • Familiarity with IIA Standards and the CIIA Code
  • Familiarity with a riskbased and business process focused audit approach and a keen eye for detail
  • A focus on effective teamwork and the ability to selfmotivate and motivate those around you.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships and influence at all levels.
  • Highly organised with excellent planning/ prioritising skills and ability to work on own initiative to tight deadlines
  • Proficient Microsoft skills (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
