VACANCY FOR
PART TIME GP RECEPTIONIST
We are a small friendly GP practice with one Doctor and a low staff turnover.

Due to retirement we have created a new post for a part time GP receptionist for 16-18 hours a week.

Potentially this would be worked over 3-4 days for example (over 3 days)

Monday 11-4:30, Tuesday 1-6:30, Friday 1:00-6:30. This could be further discussed at time of interview.

Flexibility is required to cover for annual leave and sickness if necessary.

We would like our new receptionist to provide accurate and efficient administrative support to the Practice team and have the ability to cope well in a busy working environment.

• Patient, pleasant, approachable, cheerful, helpful and professional
• High level of common sense
• Team player, positive attitude, motivated with a good sense of humour
• Hardworking, dependable able to multitask and work under pressure

Main duties include:

• Greeting patients
• Answering telephone calls and dealing with all patient enquiries
• Managing the appointment system and booking appointments
• Ordering prescriptions
• Contacting patients to invite for review or offer screening in surgery
• Scanning and coding patient documentation
• Maintaining medical records, computer files and filing
• Chaperoning procedures
• Preparing and tidying GP consulting rooms
• Ordering and maintaining stationery and stock
• Call and recall of chronic disease register patients
• Other admin duties as required

Essential Skills:

• Outstanding verbal and nonverbal communication
• Computer literate
• Previous experience in NHS admin is desirable but not essential

Part-time hours: 16-18 per week

From £9.80 per hour
