A successful company based in Rotherham are looking for a Trainee Procurement Officer.

An excellent opportunity for someone looking to enter the world of procurement as a career, or looking to expand current experience.


Accountabilities:
To assist in developing and delivering sales activities within the department to both the public and private sector;
To aid in the set up call off up of frameworks for use by the public sector;
To provide procurement administrative assistance, encompassing managed tenders, managing timelines, and general administrative duties to both colleagues and clients


Job Purpose:


  • Aiding with managed tenders on behalf of clients to comply with legislation in regards to value and timelines;
  • Aid colleagues who may be delivering a range of instructed procurement services to client organisations, acting as an extension of their own Procurement Department
  • Assist in identifying suitable call off contracts to bring to the public sector marketplace, and aid in the creation of documentation, review of suppliers and document evaluation, ultimately bringing any accepted offerings to market
  • Aid in the general administration of the range of seminars provided, which will include liaison with clients to ensure bookings are coordinated, paid for, and any seminar links issued in a timely manner, following up with all attendees as appropriate
  • Attendance events or conferences, as required
  • Other duties as required

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience:


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work under own initiative or as part of a team
  • Ability to conceptualise and interpret the requirements of both colleagues and external clients
  • Excellent record keeping abilities

Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Experience:


  • Recent public sector procurement experience would be an advantage
  • Administrative experience
  • A willingness to learn our software
  • A desire to commit to a career in procurement, and a wish to undertake Level 4 CIPS qualification after a minimum of 2 years' experience (where not already on the CIPS formal qualification journey)
