You will work closely with Trading Underwriting, Propositions and Compliance to ensure product content and policy wording construct are regulatory compliant and products offer fair value.

Identifying areas where underwriting practice could be improved is key, and you will keep the business up to date with valuable information around underwriting performance, trends and current and future impact of political, economic, social, technological, legal and environmental changes.


  • About You
  • Superior technical underwriting knowledge to provide guidance and insight to assist decision and strategy makers and all relevant business areas.
  • Knowledge of socioeconomic and legal environment (as it affects Consumer or Commercial insurance)
  • A tenacious and effective approach to exceeding targets.
  • Business acumen (including good understanding of internal and external markets and best practice) and strong commercial and financial awareness.
  • Demonstrable innovative approach and ability to develop meaningful long term strategic and operational plans (including driving continuous improvement).
  • Ability to concurrently manage multiple short and long term tasks and projects of varying complexity to associated deadlines, whilst providing high quality output and maintaining internal and external service provision.
  • Ideally hold relevant professional qualifications, typically DIPCII or ACII (Associateship Chartered Insurance Institute) but this is not essential
