Description

As a Workshop engineer you will be responsible for all areas and aspects of day to day workshop operations while ensuring conformance to relevant standards and internal procedures.

That will include training in all aspects of activities carried out by the company. No previous experience in mandatory but would be desirable. AMS will provide full comprehensive training. The individual must have a hands-on attitude.


As a workshop engineer you will report to the workshop manager and business director on daily, weekly and monthly basis.

Day to Day Operational Responsibilities

  • Primary responsibility for the day to day preparation of samples from cutting to machining and registering job in the system. Operation of all workshop equipment.
  • Ensuring that priorities and deadlines are met from order receipt to delivery of machined test pieces in the laboratory.
  • Ensure all incoming material is booked in to the internal system
  • Ensure cutting and machining equipment is maintained as and when required
  • Report equipment failure to senior staff member to execute remedial action and thereby ensure continuity of service.
  • Interface with customers, witnesses and inspectors if and as required
  • Maintain good working practices and ensure that health & safety procedures are followed.
  • Liaise effectively with company's quality manager to ensure quality policies are strictly followed.
  • Ensure ISO/IEC 17025 requirements are being met
Day to day activities may include but are not limited to:

  • Sample registration, cutting, machining to appropriate standards and tolerances
  • Operation of all workshop equipment

You will need to demonstrate:

  • Handson attitude and good physical strength
  • Ability to organise workflow in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel within the company, clients and suppliers.

Salary:
£25,000.00-£33,000.00 per year depending on experience
