Management Accountant - Immediate Start
Hertford, Hertfordshire
Circa £50,000
Initial 12 Month Fixed Term Contract
We are seeking and experienced management accountant with knowledge for payroll to join this local business based in Hertford.

This role acts as an important part of the company's Finance function, ensuring the timely and accurate management and reporting offinancial data, enabling the company's financial goals to be achieved.

The role holder operates at internal and external level within the company and as an ambassador for Finance support.

Activity will also be required with improved company processes, proceduresand Company initiatives such as projects and new initiatives for increased efficiency.

The Role

  • Preparation of month end accounts for the business units including P&Ls, Balance Sheets, reconciliations and variance analysis to budgets and forecasts.
  • Preparation, reconciliation, analysis and commentary of monthly Management Accounts for the business units to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Assist the Head of Finance as required with reconciliations and adhoc enquiries.
  • Provide general financial support for specific business areas.
  • Assisting with the year end for the Group and liaising with external auditors.
  • Review of Purchase and Sales ledger activities.
  • Handling of Internal and External queries and requests
  • Assist with the effective management of stock levels, spares, consumables, and materials ensuring all company processes and procedures are met.
  • Collecting all payroll data; overtime, commissions, expenses, bonus payments.
  • Processing monthly pension contributions to external providers
  • Monthly HMRC Submissions, end of year and all other communications
  • Monthly reports & reconciliation
  • Annual P11Ds
What we are looking for

  • Previous experience of producing and reporting of validated Management Accounts and associated commentary.
  • Data manipulation experience and skills (particularly strong Excel skills)
  • Previous experience working with auditors and preparation of year end accounts.
  • Excellent communications skills at all levels
  • Ability to successfully follow and improve processes, meet deadlines, and deliver required results
