About The Role:


  • To assist the Design Manager and Collaborate with the technical team with daily tasks and responsibilities.

What You'll Be Doing:


  • Collaborate with the technical team to manage incoming and outgoing transmittals from the supply chain and the designer.
  • Review designs to confirm compliance with the design intent, under the guidance of the technical team.
  • Actively participate in meetings with designers, subcontractors, and the Client to provide valuable input and contribute to project discussions.
  • Assist in coordinating and liaising with various stakeholders involved in the project.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records related to design reviews, assurance, and project progress.
  • Assist with the identification and resolution of technical issues or challenges that may arise during the project lifecycle.
  • Follow established safety in design principles and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.

The following qualities/ experience are essential:


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be confident in dealing with people at all levels.
  • Basic understanding of building services concepts and principles (prior knowledge or experience in this field is an advantage but not required).

Apprenticeship Overview:


  • Apprenticeship Standard: Building Services Design Engineer (Degree) Level
Apprenticeship Length: 60 months (this does not include EPA period).

  • Entry Requirements: Minimum 3 A-Levels, HNC or equivalent at grades 4/C or equivalent including Maths, Science or Engineering and Minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent at grades 94/A-C including Maths, English and Science.

What is HS2?:

HS2 will form the backbone of the UK's transport network, connecting eight out of ten of Britain's largest cities. HS2 trains will serve over 25 stations connecting around 30 million people.

HS2 will significantly improve connectivity in the North and Midlands, and will also integrate with the existing network serving stations into Scotland.
