New Exciting opportunity for an IT Category Manager in the Public Sector


Your new company:


Hays are delighted to be working with a Public Sector organisation based in Dundee to recruit for a new IT Category Manager.


Your new role:


The Category Manager is responsible for preparing tenders, awarding documentation and leading/advising colleagues across the organisation in all procurement and contract management activities, ensuring outcomes are aligned to the organisations strategic aims.


What you'll need to succeed:

To be successful in this role, it is essential that you:

  • Have full (or working towards full) membership of Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS)
  • Demonstration of procurement achievement and experience in public or private sector
  • Knowledge of EU (now GPA) and Scottish procurement law
  • Experience of team leadership, management and motivation
  • Ability to define priorities and work flexibly and effectively under pressure
  • Ability to understand and manage procurement risk and provide highlevel, pragmatic advice
  • Excellent analytical, written and oral communication skills, supported by competent IT skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain a network of personal working relationships with senior decision makers within and across the organisation
