Transport Planner - Sittingbourne


We've got a fantastic opportunity for a
Plannerto join the
Transport Teamat our
Sittingbourne Distribution Centre, Reporting to the Planning Manager you will be responsible for producing individual Driver schedules that will implement the overall Transport plan for the Sittingbourne operation.


Here at Morrisons our Transport Planners do the following:

  • Ensure all deliveries and collections are in line with planned requirements.
  • Provide problem solving guidance on any operational issues such as late changes to plans and compliance with policies and procedures
  • Plan and manage resources to deliver a cost effective delivery service.
  • Produce individual plans for particular drivers within an overall plan.
  • Analyse the plan against actual schedules to understand areas of improvement.
  • Maintain compliance and conformance for safe working practices and working time regulations.
  • Ensure policies and procedures are followed at all times.
  • Ensure the completion of all associated records and reports and highlight any inaccuracies, issues or complaints
  • Proactively identify opportunities for improved operational efficiencies
  • Organising shunters and ensuring that vehicles and trailers are available when needed.

About You
To be successful you should have excellent communication and analytical skills and experience of producing reports.


Experience of planning a large and successful transport operation along with an understanding of planning system Paragon would be advantageous.

This ambient warehouse in South East England covers 900,000 square feet. That's seven kilometres of aisles to walk down.

As well as delivering to 86 stores, our team picks products for our online fulfilment centre in Erith and wholesale customers as far away as Hong Kong.

On top of that, our 24/7 operation provides our Latimer and Willow Green warehouses with stock for a further145 stores.
