Logistics & Delivery Coordinator

Job Summary


The Logistics Delivery Coordinator (LDC) is responsible for coordinating the projects deliveries, ensuring compliance with the CLOCS standard and the production of associated reports, statistics and KPIs.


The LDC is to support the logistics operations lead in the collation of the forecasted vehicle histogram, development of the project's logistics strategy and production of associated documentation.


The LDC is to support the Logistics Team in the day to day running and coordination of its activities as detailed in the responsibilities section of this document.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the projects vehicle deliveries utilising Datascope (MDJV delivery management software). This will involve close coordination with the MDJV construction team, their trade contractors and the MDJV logistics team to ensure the efficient delivery of this critical aspect of the project.
  • The LDC ensures deliveries to the project meet MDJV requirements and acts as the primary arbitrator between subcontractor's vehicle booking priorities.
  • Ensuring that the project's deliveries are compliant with the CLOCS standard and that all relevant documentation to support this is in place.
  • Collation of the project's vehicle delivery statistics, the analysis of these against forecasted numbers and management of variances.
  • Assist the Logistics traffic & freight lead in the collation and presentation of the project's vehicle histogram. This will involve the establishment of meetings with the relevant members of the construction teams, analysis of projected vehicle numbers and production of documentation to represent the histogram.
  • Support the Traffic & Freight Lead in the production of documentation and submissions to the relevant authorities.
  • The collation of the project's asset register and support the logistics team in the hiring / purchasing of materials associated with the delivery of the logistics team scope.
  • The production of required KPI, trend analysis and escalation to the relevant members of the logistics team.
  • Support the logistics team members in the production of documentation and reports.
  • Comply with the requirements of Mace Dragados HS&W Management Plan.

Person Specification

Technical Competencies required.
The key technical competencies required to perform the role well are outlined below.

  • Have excellent communication (written and verbal), management and organisational skills.
  • A good working knowledge of the Health and Safety regulations and other relevant legislation.
  • Detailed experience in the use of Datascope delivery management system or similar.
  • Has the ability to produce documents and reports utilising all MS Office software packages.
  • Demonstrates sound analytical ability, appreciating complex issues and situations.
  • Demonstrates flexibility in thought and approach, managing multiple competing demands within the wider strategic context.

Qualifications, Certifications and Experience required.

  • Relevant experience in the construction industry.
  • Detailed experience of logístical & construction operations on major construction projects.
  • Demonstrate excellent presentation & organisational skills, ability to plan and manage own time.
  • Have excellent analytic skills.
  • Purchasing and asset tracking experience.
  • Experience in the utilisation of complex systems on major projects such as document control, Yellow Jacket.
  • CSCS Card (supervisor as minimum, manager ideally).
