Overview:

Element has an exciting opportunity for a

Technical Specialist to strengthen our technical expertise within our growing laboratory at Deeside. This is an on
- the
- bench role which will undertake method development, method improvements and support production in a chemical analysis laboratory.


Element Deeside is the largest analytical chemistry laboratory within the Element Group and the market leading UK laboratory undertaking the testing of soils, waters, wastes, oils, NAPLs, ambient air, soil vapours and gases from all over the world.

The laboratory undertakes high volume routine analysis as well as offering bespoke method development, technical support and hydrocarbon forensic interpretations to enhance the support we can deliver.

The laboratory has an international reputation for service excellence and supports clients that require a higher level of technical expertise, reliability in data quality and seamless project management from sample collection to timely delivery of data in the format of choice.


Responsibilities:


  • Provide technical support to the organics laboratory
  • Assist in production, instrument maintenance and support
  • Plan and undertake method development within the technical team
  • Provide training and support to colleagues

Skills / Qualifications:

  • A chemistry background and education to degree level
  • Proven demostarable method development experience using GCMS
  • Significant GCMS experience essential plus GCFID / LCMS / HPLC an advantage
  • Understanding of a wide range of extraction methods
  • Highly motivated and organised individual
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise workload and see projects through to completion
  • An excellent communicator and problem solver
