Description
To hold delegated day-to-day management responsibility for provision of a safe, efficient catering service to patients, staff, visitors and external contracts.
To plan the daily departmental workload, and supervise staff and resources as required to provide the service specified within allocated budget.
Have responsibility for departmental cash handling in accordance with Standing Financial Instructions.To develop and keep under review opportunities for improving service standards and efficiency.
Experience required
Extensive experience working in a leadership role
Proven experience in large scale patient catering operations.
Experience of working with other departments for the needs of the service.
Evidence of other aspects
Ability to produce work to timescales when under pressure
Ability to motivate and manage staff in all areas.
flexibility in working hours where and when required
Proven ability to prioritise and manage work load effectively
Qualifications required
City and Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ Equivalent
Advanced Food Hygiene or Intermediate
General management qualification or proven experience in leading a catering team and overseeing a large scale patient food service.
