Summary


The Interim Head of Strategic Transformation will be accountable for overseeing the systems, processes and frameworks to ensure the organisation successfully plans and delivers its strategic ambitions.


The post holder will be responsible for:

  • Leading and continuously improving the organisation's corporate planning and performance reporting frameworks.
  • Implementing effective governance (in line with the relevant Government Functional Standards) around the organisation's strategic change portfolio by leading the Programme Management Office.
  • Helping the organisation to establish an organisational Change Management Office. This may require the postholder to line manage a pool of change management resource (comprising programme managers, project managers and business analysts) to support thedelivery of the organisation's strategic transformation.

Essential Experience

  • Portfolio and/or programme and/or project management qualification(s) or equivalent experience with a good understanding of a range of delivery methodologies e.g. Agile, PRINCE2 etc.
  • Proven ability to use a coaching/mentoring style to support staff development
  • Previous experience of line management including resource planning and management
  • Experience of overseeing complex portfolios and/or programmes and/or projects, working in a multidisciplinary environment, effectively managing resource and competing demands to deliver the intended outcomes/benefits on time and within budget
  • Experience of working in a dynamic environment where the focus is on delivering best value for public funds.
  • Experience of leading and managing change effectively including guiding others to cope with operating in an agile, changing environment and dealing with opposition to change.
  • Experience of budgetary management
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, MS Excel and MS Project with an ability to use databases to provide management and evaluation information
