Description

Established for over 30 years, my client is a market leader in providing access control, electronic security and personnel management systems to major global organisations and is the EMEA of a global US based organisation.

Due to an expanding business model they now require an experienced Operations / Project Controller to oversee various project coordination teams based within the UK and Europe.

Reporting in to the Ops Director, you will build effective relationships with internal teams within their Data Centre projects, effectively managing resources, costs and customer satisfaction for effective project completion and delivery.


The position typically assists the Operations Director EMEA and Program Managers EMEA and works with the EMEA CTC Operations Managers, Project Managers, Site Managers, Technical/Commissioning Engineers and procurement assigned to projects in all aspects of the Operational Delivery for Data Centres across Europe.


Duties

  • Maintains good customer relations, acts as "customer's best service provider" at all times, develops and implements operations strategies that improve execution and provide additional value to customers in a cost effective manner.
  • Works with Program Managers, Project Managers Site Managers, Technical/Commissioning Engineers assigned to DC EMEA projects and procurement with all elements of job management, including projected costs/cost control, subcontracts, workforce planning and scheduling, management of invoice scheduling, material procurement, Revenue Forecasting, Operation Financial reporting into the CTC's.
  • Proactively communicates project schedules, project change proposals and related project activities on a regular basis with Ops Director and Program Managers
  • Assists the Operations Director, Program Managers and Project Managers in planning and scheduling installation contracts, material procurement, preparation of invoices, and collections.
  • Utilizes financial systems to review actual vs estimated contract cost and to provide timely and accurate financial reports. Helps maintains accurate and up to date job cost records, master project folders and other control records necessary for processing of internal and external reports.
  • Helps develop and implement operations strategies that improve installation and service delivery
  • Effectively communicates project requirements to project team and wider organization, maintains accurate and up to date records of job status, job changes, material flow
  • May supervise Project Managers, Project Coordinators and other team members. When applicable, supervises in a manner that maintains morale, skills proficiency and productivity.
May perform limited range of managerial responsibilities including but not limited to:
mentoring, coaching and developing colleagues; planning, assigning and directing work; performance management; project budget.


Although mainly home based, you must be within an easy commute of the offices based in Docklands, London; Crowborough, East Sussex and also be near good transport links for an airport. This role will require some occasional European travel to offices and teams based in Ireland, Germany and France.

About You

  • Minimum of three years of previous, relevant engineering, field or project management experience preferred
  • Experience in one or more of the following industries preferred: electronic, fire alarm & life safety, building automation, Resource Management.
  • Previous project supervisory experience desirable
