  • PASA2311The Department of Professional Administrative Services was created in 2020 from 6 previously autonomous Academic Support Units. We're looking for a strong leader with extensive understanding of administrative processes to continue the process of team development and harness the emergent culture of collaborative working to bring about further improvements and efficiencies.


As well as setting a clear strategic vision for the department and its staff, you will continue to drive the changes required to ensure that it is recognised and appreciated within the wider University as a professional service providing high-quality, customer focused services which meet the needs of its users and stakeholders.


Reporting to the Director of Library and Professional Administrative Services, you will require a thorough understanding of academic administration and process/system improvement and have a strategic mindset.

Particularly important will be the ability to form and manage strong and effective relationships and negotiate at University, College and School level.

You will already have management experience in an academic environment and a proven ability to lead and motivate staff through change and to respond positively to new challenges.


From 1 August 2023, the salary range for this role will increase to £42,978 - £54,395, with the opportunity to progress to £59,422.
