The Blackberry Clinic have an exciting opportunity for a Mobile Health Advisor to join us working full time with our multi-disciplinary teams delivering Bupa Health Assessments and primary care services including earwax removal, providing care to patients undergoing procedures, assisting the doctors with x-ray and ultrasound guided injections, the overall management of the patient's pathway and additional services as they are added.

This role will also include elements of administrative work.

The mobile vacancy provides an exciting opportunity to work across our network of clinics and with a diverse staff, as travel is essential to this role.

All training will be given as part of a programme.

The successful applicant will be motivated to develop new skills and work well as part of a team but be confident to work autonomously as required and be adaptive to cover both the clinical and administrative needs of the role.


Who are we:

The Blackberry Clinic group was established in 1988 and has 24 centres across the UK.

We are experts in treating acute and chronic back pain, muscle sprains, strains, arthritis and other joint conditions causing pain or discomfort.

We offer a full service for the treatment and rehabilitation of sports injuries for all levels of athletes and offer health screening and health assessment services in partnership with Bupa Health Clinics.


Health Advisor Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • As a Health Advisor, you will work within a team to ensure the highest standards of health assessments are delivered to our clients.
Working closely with the onsite GPs and Physiotherapists you will strive to ensure our customers receive a comprehensive and pleasant service including:


  • Supporting the service delivery of health assessments to customers.
  • Maintaining accurate client records and supporting throughout the endtoend process.
  • Promote and encourage a healthier lifestyle in accordance with Bupa's current clinical policies.
  • Carry out clinical testing including; body composition analysis, spirometry, heart rate monitoring, diabetes and anaemia blood test markers, cholesterol profiling, blood pressure measurement, ECGs, functional movement screening and delivering submax VO2 Max fitness testing.
  • Create individual lifestyle action plans using motivational interviewing techniques to promote behaviour change.
  • Help to ensure the centre is compliant with regulations set by the CQC

Ie:
Hygiene, confidentiality, customer service and health & safety.

  • Proving primary care services including earwax removal and sexual health checks.

Key Healthcare Assistant Responsibilities:


  • Preparing the treatment suite for the doctors to perform injections under xray guidance (training given on fluoroscopy unit).
  • Using aseptic technique to prepare the equipment necessary to perform procedures.
  • Assisting the doctor throughout the procedure, maintaining a sterile field.
  • To support and monitor the patient pre, during and post procedure.
  • Discuss patient aftercare and any worries they may have immediately after procedures. You will need to be fully up to date on all procedures performed at the clinic and that you understand the potential complications, signs and symptoms to look out for.
  • Ordering, safe storage and stock control of medical supplies.
  • Maintain accurate patient records.
  • Carry out medical audits (training given).
  • To process billing of treatments to insurance companies (training given).
  • To be up to date and knowledgeable re insurance companies and codes so that the invoicing can be done correctly and efficiently whilst maintaining dataprotection at all times.
  • IT skills are essential (including Word and Excel).

Required Skills & Experience:


  • Full driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.
  • Accurately recording information and working to clinical procedure.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Customer facing experience.
  • You will be required to have flexibility to travel to the different sites within the Blackberry Group (Please see website for further information) providing cover to both the Blackberry orthopaedic team and Bupa Health Assessment team.

Desirable Skills and Experience:


  • Experience of performing measurements or assessments in a health and fitness or medical environment would be desirable.
  • Experience in venepuncture techniques.

Salary:
£24,000.00 per year
