This is an exciting opportunity for a Ward Receptionist to join a diverse and motivated team that are dedicated to the development of skills and the delivery of high-quality safe care.

Fletcher Ward is an 18 bedded Bone Marrow Transplant Unit, with a Teenage and Young Adult unit on ward.


As the Ward Receptionist, you will often be the first point of contact for patients and visitors when entering the unit so a friendly, welcoming smile and excellent communication skills are essential.

Main duties of the job

Tasks will include but not be limited to fulfilling all necessary reception, clerical, administrative and general tasks required to facilitate and record patient information using technology systems.

Staff are expected to be courteous and considerate at all times and have excellent customer care skills.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Basic computer skills will be needed and an understanding of Microsoft word and excel. Basic typing skills is a necessity preferably at RSA level 2. NUH programmes such as Medway, PTS Online and Notis would be an advantage.

  • Previous Experience as a Receptionist
  • Customer Care
Desirable criteria

  • Previous Employment within a Health field / or working within a team
  • Clerical experience

Qualifications:

  • Secondary school standard of education in basic numeracy and literacy
  • Evidence of personal development in previous employment
Desirable criteria

  • Competent at using Medway System
  • Nationally recognized qualification in basic literacy and numeracy

Salary:
The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.

The system will run a check against the key security features within your documentation.

The system will provide us with an outcome of your check which will be stored securely on your personal file along with all other pre-employment check documentation.
