Description

Due to internal progression, we're looking for an enthusiastic communications professional to join our award winning communications and engagement team on a fixed term basis until the end of July 2024.

Based at ambulance trust headquarters in Bolton, but home-working on a rotational basis, you will support the delivery of key projects requiring communications advice and assistance, providing day to day support to the Communications Manager (Internal), Senior Communications Management Team and wider communications and engagement colleagues.

The role predominantly involves co-ordinating a range of public relations and communication activities, targeted to internal audiences, using a range of channels and approaches; ensuring reflection of the trust's strategic vision, organisational objectives and communication strategies.

Write, design and produce high quality, timely communication materials and information using traditional and digital media to explain the work of the trust to a range of internal audiences.

Oversee the planning, production and distribution of internal communications materials including newsletters, briefings and collateral, undertaking regular audits of communication materials to ensure they reflect the needs of our users and the trust's corporate messaging.

Highlight the achievements and work of our staff and services through a variety of events, campaigns and channels appropriately tailored for the audience.

Assist and advice other directorates in the delivery of communications and engagement activities, in line with communications strategies, protocols and branding guidelines.

Assist in the maintenance and development of the internet and intranet (Green Room) sites in conjunction with the Communications Officer (Digital) and other communication colleagues.

North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24 hour, 365 days a year accident and emergency services to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport.

Our highly skilled staff provide life-saving care to patients in the community and take people to hospital or a place of care if needed.

We also provide non-emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non-emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need.

Alongside the other emergency services, we also work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident.

We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West. NHS 111 replaced NHS Direct in 2013. This service was introduced to make it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services in England. It provides non-emergency medical help fast, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
