This is an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic and self-motivated pharmacy support worker to join the West Dunbartonshire HSCP Prescribing Support Team.

This role will involve working with GP practices and care at home service to improve medicines management and deliver excellent patient care as part of the multidisciplinary team.


This will involve supporting delivery of the pharmacotherapy service, within a hub setting and help support patients with their medicines It will also involve working with GPs and the primary care multidisciplinary teams to improve medicines management and deliver excellent patient care as described in the GMS contract.


As a key member of the Primary Care Pharmacy Team you will assist pharmacists and pharmacy technicians by undertaking activities relating to the pharmacotherapy service, including prescription management, and cost efficiencies.

Some of these tasks may require a moderate degree of technical expertise, plus a high level of focus and attention to detail.

You will coordinate the collection of information, input and analyse data, update clinical records as appropriate and collate information in support of quality medication reviews.

You will also be required to discuss use of medicines over the phone with patients.

This post requires excellent communication, negotiation, organisational and IT skills.

This is an opportunity to develop a career in Primary Care working with multi-disciplinary teams, particularly GP Practices, Community Pharmacies, Care Homes and across other care settings.

Experience of working in a healthcare environment is essential and experience of working in a pharmacy environment is desirable.

There will be a requirement to complete an SVQ qualification relevant to the role.
