I am collaborating with a dynamic and forward-thinking company that is currently seeking a highly qualified individual for the position of Associate Director of Ecology.
This full-time role, based in Edinburgh, presents an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the leadership and strategic development of my client's ecological consulting team.
Key Responsibilities:
As the Associate Director of Ecology, you will leverage your extensive technical experience in survey design, delivery, and protected species mitigation.
Leadership and Guidance:
In this role, you will be a vital representative of the company's reputation and expertise. You will lead and participate in crucial client meetings, design team sessions, and provide expert guidance to clients.
Your ability to handle complex communications with a customer-centric approach and a commercially applied mindset will be instrumental in driving the success of my client's projects.
Mentorship and Development:
You will be actively involved in mentoring and developing the skills of team members across different experience levels.
Your role will include providing dedicated mentorship to team members, fostering their technical mastery, and contributing to a collaborative learning environment.
Qualifications and Expertise:
We are seeking an individual with the following qualifications and attributes:
- Demonstrated expertise in species mitigation, holding mitigation licenses for at least one protected species, and survey licenses for at least one species.
- Proven innovation and proactivity, consistently exploring improved ways of delivering traditional services and preparing the team for upcoming market requirements.
- Proficiency in succession planning, actively developing the expertise of the team through mentorship and knowledge sharing.
- Contribution to the development of a positive, proactive, and commercially driven company culture.
- Exceptional report writing skills and efficiency in quality checking sensitive, sitecritical documentation.
- High proficiency in Microsoft packages and a passion for technological advancement, utilising systems and processes to enhance working methods and client delivery.
- A recognised degree in an environmental or ecological discipline and membership in a relevant professional body, such as the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management or the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment.
