Are you passionate about ensuring the highest quality standards for raw materials and packaging in the food industry? Yolk Recruitment is supporting an exciting recruitment campaign for a Raw Materials Technologist to join a leading company in the sector.
As a key player in their team, you'll be responsible for maintaining the integrity of raw materials and supplier approvals, guaranteeing the highest level of compliance and safety.
If you have the experience and expertise to make a difference, I want to hear from you.This is what you'll be doing as Raw Materials Coordinator:
- Approving new suppliers of raw materials, ingredients, and packaging prior to use on-site.
- Conducting annual supplier performance reviews and taking necessary actions regarding poor performance.
- Maintaining all raw material documentation, including risk assessments, allergen matrices, and handling procedures.
- Reviewing and accepting Certificates of Analysis.
- Managing raw material quality issues with suppliers and investigating and raising raw material complaints.
- Overseeing packaging trials and factory suitability approval.
- Ensuring all necessary raw material intake checks are completed as required.
- Performing customer Integrity Risk assessments and associated documentation.
- Maintaining reference samples for artwork versions.
- Supporting the Compliance Manager with customer, regulatory, and 3rdparty audits onsite.
- Addressing Customer audit nonconformances related to raw materials.
The experience you'll bring to the team as Raw Materials Coordinator:
- Strong awareness of Retailer Code of Practice (COP) and BRC v9 Food Safety Standard requirements.
- Good understanding of BRC standards/GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice).
- Working knowledge of Quality Management systems.
- Experience with Factory systems & procedures.
- Ability to motivate staff and confidently interact with Customers and Suppliers.
- Proficient in risk assessing raw materials and suppliers.
- Knowledge of Customer Codes of Practice.
- HACCP & auditing qualifications.
