Primary Higher Level Teaching Assistant

Sheffield, South Yorkshire

£100 per day

Full-time Term-time only

  • Unique School Solutions are recruiting on behalf of a throughschool in the Sheffield area for a HLTA. The HLTA will be responsible for delivering preplanned absences in the primary phase.

Duties of the role:
  • Preparing classrooms for lessons, including setting up televisions for video presentations and sourcing books and handouts for students
  • Teaching classes unassisted, especially when Teachers are ill or on leave
  • Delivering learning and enrichment activities, either with Teachers or independently
  • Working with small groups of students or individuals needing special attention
  • Assessing students' progress and discussing development with Teachers, parents and Carers
  • Supervising student groups on excursions and at sporting events
  • Effectively managing classroom behaviour

Essential requirements for the role:
  • Experience delivering lessons to Primary age children
  • Level 3 or above (or equivalent) in Supporting Teaching & Learning or other relevant course
  • Good understanding of the Primary national curriculum
