Mixing Operative (Mixologist)

Due to internal promotion Simple-Company are now recruiting a Mixologist (Mixing Operative) based at our Crawley production site.
Mixology is a busy environment at the beginning of all our production processes.

Following precise recipes and Standard operating Procedures to create the liquids, gels, pastes and powders that are then packaged for our decerning clients.

This role requires a cool head, self-motivation, accuracy, diligence, a flexible and agile mind and a head for figures. We work in a fast paced environment where a combination of speed and attention to detail is paramount.

We need someone who is a clear & quick thinker in this hands-on role. You will be a valued player in this small but key department.


Responsibilities:

Converse daily with Line Manager to determine priorities and changes to plans

Take daily information, commit and issue materials and print production documentation - Work Orders - using our ERP (Materials Management System)

Follow SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures) and precise recipes to deliver desired products for packaging and shipping to our clients

Complete Work Orders on ERP

Inform Production/Warehouse of material availability

Establish and maintain great housekeeping within the department - a place for everything and everything in its place.


Essential Skills/Experience

  • Must be numerate GCSE maths grade A/B or higher
  • Must be literate, able to read and write fluently in the English language you may be asked to create reports or documentation to be shared with line manager/coworkers etc
  • Great attention to detail, recipes are measured down to 4 decimal places, so high levels of accuracy are required
  • Calm under pressure, this is a high paced role with minimum supervision, self management is a key attribute
  • Experience in stock management
  • Clean, tidy, organised, this is a small but key department, mostly within a clean room environment
  • Basic computer skills Microsoft office, MRP/ERP, warehouse stock management systems
  • Accurate data entry

  • Previous experience of working in a 'food' manufacturing environment working within a HACCP managed environment
  • Manual handling skills


The work is a mix of detailed assembly of recipes and some manual handling of finished/mixed product, some physical strength is required.

Being mainly based in a cleanroom environment, PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is almost always worn. High levels of personal hygiene are essential.

Rate is circa £12.10 once fully trained and following a 3 month probationary period on a zero hours contract, starting rate depending on skills and experience


Salary:
£11.00-£12.10 per hour


Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Crawley, RH10 9RW: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

- manufacturing/production: 1 year (required)

- using recipes to create food products: 1 year (preferred)
