Description
Warwick Community Playschool, based in Wellingborough, is an independent committee run charity setting. We are an individual setting supported by a passionate team of practitioners and volunteers.

Due to increasing numbers, we are looking for an amazing and
experienced qualified practitioner.

Our setting is child-led, with amazing practitioners that develop children's learning through their fascinations and interests. We have access to the outdoors whatever the weather, encouraging the children to explore the natural world. There are never 2 days that are the same where children are at the heart of everything we do (and we can be big kids at heart too)

What are we looking for?

  • A minimum of a
Level 3 qualification that is seen as full and relevant. A level 2 with experience may be considered. Knowledge of SEND or a passion to pursue this would be an advantage.
  • Someone that is passionate about providing Outstanding care, teaching and learning, ensuring that the observation, planning and assessment cycle is completed effectively
  • A dedicated, fun, approachable and friendly practitioner that isn't afraid of hard work
  • A strong knowledge of child development, how children learn and current curriculum frameworks.
  • Someone who is familiar and experienced with being a key person, adapting to our style of planning and assessment.
  • A practitioner who understands the value of play and can adapt their 'teaching' to suit the needs of the children. We follow an 'in the moment' approach where the practitioners support learning through play. We are currently working towards our Curiosity Approach Accreditation.
  • A practitioner who can be flexible within the team and work across the age ranges and different areas of the provision (indoors and out)
  • You must be able to think on your feet and act on your own initiative.
  • A practitioner who is hands on and not afraid of a challenge (or mess).
  • A practitioner who is able to join and embrace working within our team.
  • Build a routine around the children's every changing needs that challenges their learning every day.
  • You will need to be able to adapt to the changing world of a child, being able to sing on demand, fly like a superhero or dig for worms at a moments notice. You will preferably have a little bit of quirkiness. If a child requests that you be a superhero, you will be the best superhero you can be
  • You must have lots of love to offer and big warm hugs, as and when required.
  • Having eyes in the back of your head and possessing the skills required to rapidly count the heads of numerous moving small people is of the utmost importance.
  • A knowledge of supporting children with Additional Needs would be a huge benefit as we are fully inclusive.
  • A practitioner who can support families as a part of our family.
  • A practitioner who holds children at the heart of everything they do, which sometimes means working outside of work hours, completing additional tasks and training.

What can we offer?

  • Working hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 8.30am until 4.00pm and Wednesday8.30am until 5.00pm. Plus one staff meeting a month. This is term time only and includes teacher training days.
  • 6% employer pension contribution.
  • Opportunities for CPD. If you are interested in working towards a qualification, this is something we may be able to support.
  • In house supervision with a qualified counsellor.
  • An 'Outstanding ' Ofsted rating.
  • A strong committee that owns the setting.
  • A lively setting, where no two days are ever the same
The salary is pro rata rate as we are
term time only plus training days. Salary is dependent on age, qualifications and experience
