Role Description:
MCAD PLM Support Specialist


Key areas of responsibility:
Under the guidance of the Engineering Systems Lead but with significant autonomy

  • Log issues and resolutions and provide management information when requested
  • Provide support for Windchill PDMLink e.g., context permissions, adding new users, checkin failures, Creo startup issues, corrupt caches, workspace management, browser issues, performance monitoring, standardisation, configuration files, and best practices
  • Update training material and provide training for new and existing users
  • Resolve any user issues with the Windchill PDMLink/Dassault Integration
  • Identify any improvements or enhancements, provide training and detailed documentation on how the integration functions
  • SolidWorks file archiving and repository management
  • Liaise with IT department on the following activities:
  • Create new IT requests in ServiceNow and track/manage to ensure they are actioned properly
  • Creating/updating architecture specs (PowerPoint)
  • Manage PC Refresh for user base
  • Place requisitions/Purchase orders in Oracle Cloud for rapid prototype supplies tracking through to delivery and invoicing/payment
  • Place requisitions/Purchase orders for software tools used by engineering teams tracking through to delivery and invoicing/payment
  • Liase with suppliers and finance teams as appropriate
  • Update license files
  • Create & maintain ISO documents as required

Required skills and experience:

  • 5+ years in similar role, Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent qualifications
  • 5+ years experience using PTCs Creo Mechanical CAD tools and Windchill PDMLink
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Excellent technical communication skills
  • Have a sense of urgency with the ability to multitask
  • Enthusiastic and selfmotivated with ability to take initiative and work independently
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Desired experience:

  • Windows 2016/2019 Server Administration
  • Project Management skills
