Taxi First And Tower Cabs are now part of the Take Me Group Ltd
Take me Group will help you obtain a Private hire licence. We will also guide you through the process start to finish from our offices based in Plymouth.


From the 1st Of April 2024 the knowledge of Plymouth test will be removed from Plymouth, making it easier to become a taxi driver than its ever been.


Transporting public from place to place as well as we do corporate business contracts/ school contracts/ and hospital contracts/ airports etc.


Need to be always polite and courteous, smart casual dress, English speaking Reading and writing is a necessity to obtain your Taxi/private hire licence.

TAXIFIRST & Tower Cabs (from here on known as 'the company') have partnered with
Take Me Plymouth, our goal is to improve and modernise the Private hire taxi Trade, but first we need good, honest self-employed people to help us achieve this.


The company and Plymouth as a whole, need a lot more drivers on the road to help with the growing demand put on us by the public and help protect vulnerable people left stranded on the streets.


  • One year License = £13
  • Driving test by City Bus = £8
  • Knowledge of Plymouth Test = £72 (removed on the 1st of April 2024)
  • If you're not from the UK originally you will need a spoken English test = £3
  • Total = £389 (+£33 for spoken English test)

£20,000.00-£50,000.00 per year

  • 12 hour shift
  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Night shift
  • Weekend availability
