We are looking for a highly motivated person to become part of our Specialist Young People's Substance Misuse Service in the role of - Young Persons Resilience Worker - Criminal Exploitation and Vulnerable Young Persons Lead.


Derbyshire CGL provides specialist, care planned drug and alcohol support to young people up to the age of 19 within Derbyshire (excluding Derby city).

The service works in a holistic way with young people and works closely with local partners in ensuring a multi-agency approach to supporting young people with complex substance misuse issues.

This post will involve working across different locations and working from different locality and partner bases.

Hours:37.5hrs per week

Responsibilities:


About the role:


  • Close coworking with Early Help Teams, Social Care, Schools, Youth Offending Services, CAMHS and other statutory and voluntary sector young people's support services in the community
  • There will be a lead role in developing and maintaining joint work with services providing support around Criminal Exploitation and delivering support to vulnerable young people within community settings
  • Carry out comprehensive service user assessments and develop individual care plans that clearly identify how achieving each goal will enable progression in addressing substance use and related outcomes
  • Support and provide advocacy for young people by participating in all relevant multi
- agency meetings, including Child Protection meetings; Complex Case Review panels; and Team Around the Child meetings

  • To use and assess Gillick Competency (in line with Fraser Guidelines) for young people under the age of 1
  • Coordinate integrated approaches to support young people in achieving holistic outcomes in meeting their care plan. This may include supporting young people into education, employment or training opportunities

About you:


  • Have initiative and experience of multiagency work, assessment of substance misuse needs and delivery of treatment interventions to support young people under 19 years old and their families who are experiencing problems with substance misuse
  • Experience of working with young people in a 121 and group work setting
  • Excellent understanding of drug and alcohol issues, and experience of working within a related field
  • Excellent team working and interpersonal skills, maintaining a highly cooperative approach to supporting colleagues in delivering service objectives
  • A commitment to multiagency working and to establishing partnerships with other professions to achieve good outcomes for the service user group
  • Ability to manage change successfully in a way that prioritises the needs of service users
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour in a calm and professional manner
  • Please note that due to the large geographical area covered by this post, a driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential
