Job overview:


The post holder will be based exclusively on the Neonatal Unit at The Royal Oldham Hospital (there are no General Paediatric responsibilities).

This is a large Neonatal Intensive Care Unit with 9 Intensive Care cots, 9 High Dependency cots and 19 Special Care cots providing the full spectrum of medical neonatal care including High Frequency Oscillation, inhaled Nitric Oxide and Therapeutic Hypothermia.

The new state of the art Unit is located in the purpose built Women and Children's Building. The Unit is led by a dedicated team of experienced Consultant Neonatologists.

The post-holder will work as part of a full shift tier two registrar rota, exclusively within the Neonatal Unit.


Main duties of the job:

Qualifications:


Essential criteria:


  • Full registration with the General Medical Council & a valid Licence to Practise with the General Medical Council
  • Demonstration of acquisition of the level of knowledge and skills necessary for the completion of UK ST3 paediatric training or evidence of equivalent training and experience

Desirable criteria:


  • Completion of post graduate qualification e.g. MRCPCH Part 1

Knowledge:


Essential criteria:


  • All applicants to have demonstrable skills in written and spoken English that are adequate to enable effective communication about medical topics with neonatal patients' cares and colleagues.
