Saving lives, saving NHS money and transforming services for patients - that's our mission at the East Midlands Academic Health Science Network (EMAHSN).

We are seeking a Digital Communications Specialist to lead our digital activity - generating content for our website and social media, updating our channels, creating videos and podcasts, and developing campaigns to engage our varied stakeholders.

This is a great opportunity to work within the East Midlands and with colleagues across the national AHSN Network, contributing to national and local programmes designed to enable improvements in clinical outcomes, deliver better patient experience, contribute to driving down the cost of care and stimulate economic growth.

This is a one-year role offered on a fixed term or secondment basis, to provide maternity cover. The postholder will mainly be based at home.

Secondments into this role are welcomed and will require approval from your line manager.

Main duties of the job

This key role will work across our teams to build collaboration with our many cross-sector local, regional and national partner organisations.

As part of our award-winning communications team, the postholder will lead the creation and delivery of our digital communications activity - generating rich content to communicate our work and managing our digital platforms including website, social media, video channel and Customer Relationship Management System (CRM).

We're looking for a communications professional passionate about digital communications, with vision and creativity to take our work and turn it into compelling content using a variety of techniques including website, video, podcasting, social media and interactive documents.

As well as a generating content you will manage updating of our website, along with planning and scheduling content and campaigns.

The role will maintain our Customer Relationship Management system, ensuring contact information is updated and using the system to develop targeted engagements and campaigns.

This is a key role and the postholder will be central to driving effective engagement with our many cross-sector partners, supporting a targeted approach to stakeholder mapping and relationship building.

Enthusiasm, teamwork and an ability to successfully manage a range of projects at the same time are essential.

Please note this is a one-year to provide maternity cover, offered on a fixed term or secondment basis.

Working for our organisation

We are one of 15 Academic Health Science Networks (AHSNs) around England that operate as the innovation arm of the NHS.

We bring together partners from all sectors involved in health and care including the NHS, social care and public health, patients, research, third sector and industry to identify, test and spread new technologies and better ways of working.

We save the NHS money, generate economic growth, empower health and care staff, and improve lives for patients. We work closely with our health and care stakeholders to establish their priorities then provide support.

As part of a national network of AHSNs, we import evidenced solutions from other AHSN regions and export our successful East Midlands programmes on a national basis.

We have a range of objectives, but our overarching aim is always to make a difference for patients.
