Role Overview

This role, reporting to the Global Healthcare Transformation Director, drives healthcare transformation globally in Bupa proactively tackling the demands of a dynamic and changing Global healthcare industry and utilising expertise (internal and external) to identify and support delivery of healthcare advancements likely to impact across the Market and Business units in the near and longer term (1-5 years).

Specifically, the Head of Clinical Transformation will oversee and support delivery of Bupa's healthcare programmes of change.

Working closely with (including but not limited to) the; Global Executive Team's, the Global Clinical Leadership Team, Market Unit and Business Unit teams to successfully deliver transformation and the strategic benefits that follow.


What you'll do:

  • Appraising and defining the future of clinical healthcare developments supporting their clinical and commercially successful implementation within market and business units;
  • Ensure timelines are beaten or maintained in terms of committed delivery with respect to key executive team's ambitions (e.g. digital transformation, provision/digital footprint, genomics);
  • Driving innovative approaches to clear clinical transformation projects that are in line with executive team ambitions;
  • Deriving clinically acceptable, commercially viable clinical products in allocated domains across multiple market units, accepting heterogeneity of product delivery in line with local market regulation and delivery capabilities;
  • Supporting and executing transformation in ways of working across teams to deliver innovative products and services that are valued by our customers, faster to market;
  • Support teams globally to collaboratively evaluate and implement potential opportunities by considering a variety of factors from a clinical, customer and commercial perspective;
  • Drive Bupa's strategy for 2025 and beyond through market scanning, trend analysis and translating CEC priories into attainable and delivered strategies for the business globally;
  • Work with senior stakeholders to analyse customer data and business performance to identify areas of potential growth;
  • Develop and implement a customercentric approach to enhance customer experience;
  • Work with the clinical evidence and horizon scanning teams on key emblematic projects e.g., genomics and support the delivery of the Global Healthcare Transformation Director's objectives;
  • Actively engages across Market and Business Units with functional teams including Strategy, Risk, Clinical, Procurement, Legal and Operations Management to seek out opportunities that are in line with the business needs and to ensure requirements are delivered, performance tracked, and operational efficiencies are maximised.

What you'll bring:

  • Medical Degree (e.g. MBBS, MD);
  • Business degree (desirable) e.g. MBA;
  • Evidence of continued professional development;
  • Proven ability and experience of having delivered clinical transformation and change projects;
  • Industry and marketplace experience relevant to this role including knowledge of relevant industry legislation;
  • Diverse mix of commercial and clinical experience with an ability to integrate and articulate commercial outcomes;
  • Evidence of having personally landed clinically viable products that have delivered commercial success in a business environment;
  • Strong influencing skills at all organisational levels and proven experience of building effective networks;
  • Ability to understand financial data including business case development;
  • Strong organisational and project management skills, ability to prioritise competing demands and work in many disciplinaries;
  • Proven experience of building effective networks within and across organisational and cultural boundaries;
  • Ability to respond quickly and positively to changing requirements and business landscape;
  • Innovative thinker with the ability to influence others at all levels in an organisation to ensure delivery and collaboration on Bupa's strategic objectives.
