Graphic packing is one of the largest manufactures of paperboard and paper based packaging for some of the world most recognised brands of food, beverages, foodservice, household, personal care and pet care products

Exciting opportunity's have arisen to join the GPI team


We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic team players to join our finishing department, working across all areas within the finishing team.


Applicants will be flexible in their approach and be able to consistently show reliability, high productivity, quality and accuracy in their work.


The assistant will be on the shop floor in time to carry out an effective shift change over, ensuring the machine and surrounding area tidy.


Key objectives:

  • Down stacking and prepping palletised work to feed/supply the Wrapper/Strapper machine.
  • To work to Standard operating procedures and 5s standard.
  • To work towards set targets, achieving maximum efficiency.
  • Ability to input data on SFDC.
  • Flexibility to work in any role within the Finishing & Wrapper/Strapper departments.

Job Role:


Feed

  • Feed the blanks into the machine in the correct manner, using the machine feed, easy feed on inverter.
  • Assist the machine minder in both the removal and the basic setting of the easy feeder and inverter
  • The feed assistant should have a working knowledge of quality issues, including recognizing an amount of print and cut and crease issues.

Packing

  • Feed in the outers with the relevant labels and to send filled outers to the conveyor system.
  • Accurately check for quality of finished products, including print and cutting checks and removing any cartons affected.
  • The packing assistant will assist the machine minder in the setting of the packer.

General

  • To understand the paperwork involved for each job and take an active part in the changeover process when going on to a new job.
  • The assistant will be prepared to run the machine to the optimum speed while carrying out their tasks, reporting any problems to the minder or team leader.
***Previous experience is advantageous but not essential, all training will be provided
