Permanent position, 30 hours a week


Lead Midwives, Alex and Kirsty, are looking to welcome qualified midwives to join our friendly and supportive team at Stroud Maternity Unit, a well-loved freestanding maternity unit providing outstanding care for the local community.


Working as a core birth unit midwife, there are opportunities to develop skills of autonomy and leadership as well as physiological birth, presentation scans, consultant clinics, glucose tolerance testing, antenatal screening, antenatal drop-in clinics, postnatal/breastfeeding support sessions.

There is opportunity to join the core birth unit team and the community midwife team or both working some community days and a shift in the unit (hybrid working).

In addition to this, there is the option to work a shift in Gloucester delivery Suite/Maternity Ward if preferred-this can be helpful in consolidating practice if newly qualified or wanting to maintain skills in this these areas.


Our community midwifery teams cover central Stroud, Stonehouse, Dursley, Cirencester, Tetbury and applicants are welcome to share their preference on which area they would like to work.
