We are looking for an Information Officer to join our Systems and Data team within our Social Care Directorate in Monmouthshire.


The team, work across Social Care to support performance management enabling the directorate to strive for high standards of performance across its services and be as efficient and effective as possible now and for the future.

Within Social Service we use data and analytics to provide our service, Welsh

Government and other stakeholders with up to date and accurate information to improve service delivery, support evidence based decision-making and enable the development of policies and solutions that will improve outcomes for people.

Within Social Services we have a responsibility for managing and responding to information. We have access to a huge amount of data, these are strategic assets but only if used constructively.


This new role is part of our investment in capacity and capability to help us unlock the potential of our data.

This involves making better use of existing software such as Excel through more sophisticated tools such as Business Objects and Power BI to improve analysis and visualisation of data and insight.


You will have access to on the job learning and more formal training to build on existing qualifications and experience.

You will begin to develop an understanding of data science techniques such as predictive analytics and combining large datasets to identify patterns and trends as well as automating certain data processes to improve efficiency.

**The Purpose of this Role:
- **Your role will involve helping us improve our use of data across the directorate, contributing to the implementation of the social care performance framework. Our longer term ambition is to develop data science techniques to get a deeper understanding of our population, using data analytics to predict events that may happen in future so that we can target preventative services and use it to generate insight.


You will work as part of the Social Care directorate however you will be closely aligned to the council's performance team, working together, producing and validating key performance indicators and ensuring these drive service improvement and accountability.

**Expectation and Outcomes of this Role: - **- To contribute to the development of data solutions which improve service delivery and outcomes for people.

  • To validate data, ensuring that it gives an accurate basis on which to make decisions and predictions
  • To produce timely and visually appealing data products which inform decision
- makers and ensure accountability and accessibility of key information

**Your responsibilities are to:
- *
  • Assist with the implementation of the Social Care performance framework;
  • Become a reliable source of knowledge about the types and uses of data held by departments, including the systems in which it is stored;
  • Contribute to the production, publication and dissemination of a wide range of data;
  • Analyse patterns in our data and identify what they mean for Social Care including, working with others on forecasting and modelling different scenarios.
  • Undertake data validation and quality assurance;
  • To use geospatial data to develop products and outputs which increase the efficiency of service delivery;
  • Supporting the development and update data dashboards and visualisations to increase the accessibility of data in line with the performance framework.
  • Keep up to date with research on how data can be used to improve and reshape social services.
  • Develop, maintain and build solid working relationships with colleagues in the directorate and whole organisation and build networks with partner organisations;
  • Demonstrate a commitment to crosssector and team working and be flexible in approach, delivery and working hours.
  • To have a commitment to delivering the vision and behaving according to the values of Monmouthshire County Council.
  • Maintain safe working practices for self and others, in accordance with the authority's policy statement on Health and Safety at Work.

Job Types:

Salary:
£25,409.00-£27,344.00 per year
