Description
Responsibilities:
- Process and maintain the purchase ledger, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of payments
- Bank reconciliation
- Prepare and process journal entries related to accounts payable transactions
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies or issues
- Collaborate with the payroll department to ensure accurate recording of employee wages
- Assist with tax compliance and HMRC Submissions of VAT and CIS
- Receipt customer payments.
- Assist with monthend and yearend closing processes, including account reconciliation
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a purchase ledger clerk or in a similar accounting role
- Strong technical accounting skills, including knowledge of journal entries and account reconciliation
- Familiarity with payroll processes and procedures
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
- Strong analytical skills to identify discrepancies or irregularities in financial data
- Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks effectively
- Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements is a plus
