Our client, an elite US law firm, is looking to recruit an IT Specialist on a temporary basis for a period of 3 months commencing February 13th.

This is a full-time position, with overtime and flexible work schedule required as needed by training or operationscoverage. It offers a generous salary of £26 per hour.


The IT specialist will sit in the London IS Office Operations team, reporting to the Director of IS Office Operations.

Their role is to ensure that office IS infrastructure, MFDs and other devices are productively deployed and used, assisting service deskpersonnel and local OTM with troubleshooting and operational maintenance of local IS systems.


Our client is looking for someone with excellent customer service skills that fits with their people first culture, ideally with law firm or professional services experience.

They must demonstrate the ability to work well with other technicians to maintainefficient system operations, to sometimes tight deadlines.

Duties of the IT Specialist will include:

  • Using a ticketing system to track customer reports of IT issues, identifying level of support required and escalating to more senior technicians as necessary
  • Installation, configuration and troubleshooting of, laptop, mobile devices and peripheral equipment
  • Participation in pilot groups and performing quality assurance of IS systems, program deployment and updates
  • Managing inventory databases to track information pertaining to hardware and software moves, adds/changes, inputting accurate data.
  • Tracking all Change Forms relating to new hires, departures, support and name changes
  • Setup and maintenance of conference room audiovisual equipment
  • Meeting setup and support for video conferencing using webbased conferencing systems
  • Troubleshooting and resolving wireless connectivity for internal and external customers
  • Troubleshooting and coordinating repairs of hardware and software with vendors

Requirements of the IT Specialist:

  • Three years applicable and relevant technical experience
- 'A' level or equivalent.

  • Availability to work overtime and flexible work schedule as required by training or operations coverage when needed
  • Basic networking architecture knowledge to include but not limited to TCP/IP, DHCP, and DNS
  • Prior experience working in a law firm or professional services industry preferred
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Participation in PMO projects
  • Good analytic skills and effective presentation skills to allow for effective customer support
  • Accuracy in data entry maintenance.
  • Ability to work well with others including technicians to maintain efficient systems operations
