12 month fixed term contract / secondment

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Substance Misuse Detached Outreach Worker to support a busy Substance Misuse Team that works and engages with young people between 6 and 25 years of age who live, work and learn within London Borough of Hackney and The City of London.

You will need to be able and willing to engage with young people from diverse communities, as well as work unsociable hours and weekends where required.

You will be engaging with young people, offering and delivering social education as well as appropriately signposting young people where they "are at" in the community, whilst supporting local events and responding to community concerns where and when required.

You will also have the ability to respectively challenge the attitude and behaviours where they may be negatively impacting upon themselves and others.

Experience of working in partnership with community stakeholders and safety partners such as housing, police, IGU, etc is also required, combined with previous experience of risk management & completing risk assessments, recording, monitoring and evaluating.

An Enhanced DBS is required for this role.
Flexible working hours between 10am and 9pm (36 hours per week).
