Description

Responsibilities and Duties:


  • Engaging in the quoting, purchasing, sales and administration of spare parts direct to customers and also as requested by Service Engineers. Dividing incoming requests between two staff in the office, for equal workload.
  • Engaging in the sales of consumables items including Trumpf Tooling (punching tools and press brake tooling), ironworker tooling, bandsaw blades, and other similar products. Learning about these products, in time, so as to be able to recommend optimum products for our customers.
  • Managing stores and company stock efficiently.
  • Providing internal sales support for our field sales personnel and managers.
  • Responsible for updating, coordinating and prioritising customer enquiries and sales leads using our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) System.
  • Facilitate the sales effort by maintaining a high level of regular contact with suppliers and customers on our database.
  • Assist with the development of special sales promotions.
  • Assist with arranging "in-house" open days.
  • Working with GM and colleagues, to manage ISO9001 procedures and systems.
  • Organising overseas business trips, as requested by GM and Product Managers.
  • Supporting the General Manager in ancillary duties as required.
  • Observing this company's safety procedures and keeping safety as a priority in all work activities.

General Comment:


Reading the above, it may sound like quite a lot, however, we are a small company, so the person will be involved in a lot of different activities.

It is an interesting and varied job and would suit someone who has previously worked in a sales/administration/marketing role in an engineering company - and who wants to work in an internal sales/administration role.

The person must be administratively strong and very organised, get on well with other people, have good IT and typing skills - accuracy and formatting is important.

Be interested in our business and products and want to learn.

Within the office, there is 1 other person who currently carries out the same role.

This role is designed as a deliberate duplication, where the two people divide the incoming customer requests (for spare parts / consumables, etc) between them & process as required.

These orders are completed and added to the system, then handed over to an Accounts Administrator for invoicing. This sharing of the role also ensures adequate cover during periods of holiday leave, etc.
