About the roleThe postholder will need to oversee the organisation and prioritisation of the work of the school admissions team and the child employment officer
Key areas will include:
- Managing the performance and development of key members of staff
- Ensuring that arrangements are in place for phased entry and inyear admissions
- Ensuring that arrangements are in place to support Fair Access
- Compliance with government legislation and national deadlines
- Managing arrangements for the appeals process
The postholder will have significant relevant experience within school admissions and will be keen to develop relationships with colleagues in the wider Education Support Services Team
Key areas will include:
- Managing the performance and development of key members of staff
- Comprehensive understanding of the legal and legislative framework relevant to school admissions
- Effectively understanding and using data to inform decision making
- Experience of drafting high quality documents in relation to statutory requirements including appeals and reports
- Prioritisation of work in a pressured environment
