Description

  • Ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Financial Services sections across the business. Support and, if necessary, lead the implementation of planned system and process changes in these areas.
  • Support the review of procedures and new systems developments, implementing changes and improvements, to ensure that a balance is achieved between commercial requirements and operational capabilities, actively encouraging the team to adapt new practicesand to lead by example.
  • Discussing and agreeing targets for departmental performance with line manager and direct reports. Regularly review performance achieved against objectives set and takes appropriate action against shortfalls.
  • Building relationships with and liaising with business managers on all matters relevant to customer invoicing and collections.
  • Developing and manage best practice in sales ledger functions automating collection; maximising debt collection rates; and improving invoicing quality. Actively manage working capital and actively work with Treasury to ensure optimise daily cash managementand cash forecasting. Assist Group Liquidity Manager. Expense Management (Concur). Company Card Management (HSBC).
  • Ensuring that adequate insurance cover is maintained for all debtor accounts.
  • Ensuring the accurate and efficient processing of supplier invoices, employee expenses and other requisitions to enable payments to be made according to agreed terms.
  • Protecting the business from fraud and loss by means of physical security access control on the means of payments and appropriate accounting reconciliation of bank balances.
  • To deliver a high quality, professional and efficient payroll service to the business.
  • Ensuring compliance with Company policy, all relevant domestic, European, and international legislation and statutory requirements on Health and Safety matters. Further ensure the safety of the public, customers, staff and contractors is paramount.

Profile

  • Experience of managing a large Transactional finance team in a complex organisation.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Good attention to detail with ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload to meet agreed deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications and the ability to present effectively to varying levels in an organisation.
  • The ability to understand business operations and identify key risks and implement robust controls to mitigate these risks.
  • Able to challenge, engage, influence, and add value at a senior operational level and within the wider senior finance team.
  • Demonstration the company behaviours.
