Within Kingfisher Group Legal, this Legal Advisor role sits within our Offer & Sourcing Goods for Resale (GFR) team, which operates as our Sourcing centre of excellence.

Your role will be to lead efficient delivery of high-quality, commercial orientated legal advice & support our global own exclusive brand (OEB) product sourcing functions & buying offices.

This is a full time permanent role based from our London Paddington HQ.

What's the job?:

What you'll be doing:

Confidently provide robust, commercially orientated advice to Kingfisher's GFR community in relation to vendor supply contracts/arrangements, vendor due diligence & compliance, disputes and claims management and other ancillary issues relating to quality, ranging and supply & logistics
Quickly and independently draft, review, negotiate and advise on an array of standard and nonstandard, complex supply related agreements including for innovatively structured procurement of products, services and/or components
Provide legal support with respect to aftersales topics including those related to agreeing standard supply terms and supply contract claims to ensure product compliance and consumer safety
Effectively champion legal policies so as to serve identified commercial and legal objectives, processes and policies
Ensure the balance of legal risks against commercial objectives
Manage legal resources and workload to execute the timely delivery of legal support in a fastpaced environment
Uphold and educate GFR colleagues on Group Compliance initiatives and policies including in data protection & information security, sanctioned countries and antibribery and corruption, with the support of the Compliance team
Support all aspects of the legal litigation process
Build effective relationships within the Group legal network to ensure advice and support is consistent with the Kingfisher corporate framework for legal support. Also ensuring that local retail banner regulatory & legal requirements are taken into account

What we need:

What experience you'll bring:

England & Wales/commonwealth qualified lawyer with excellent technical knowledge of commercial law, competition law, civil litigation and regulatory law (PQE 3+)
Training plus 35 years practice at a national, city or international law firm, or inhouse
Previous experience dealing with competition law and high value commercial contracts required
Ability to navigate any regulatory compliance issues
Able to provide detailed technical advice in a concise and directed manner
Strong drafting capabilities with the ability to devise new templates and update related negotiation waterfalls
Must be confident using legal technology i.e., matter management and contract management systems to automate contracts, advisory support and facilitate colleague selfservice
