A £120m new housing scheme in Weymouth is now a step closer to being built.

The client has entered into a joint venture agreement with one of the south's largest housing providers, to build 500 homes as an urban extension on the outskirts of the town.

Theproject is currently in enabling stages and looking to start in January 2023


The site will also feature a new primary school, a care home, local centre, commercial and employment space and will benefit from the creation of large areas of public open space.

The benefits of the proposed scheme transform the area and generate much needed affordable housing for local people. It is widely accepted the development of these sites would make a significant contribution to the local housing targets.

The scheme proposes45 per cent (225) affordable homes, which is a significant planning benefit to the borough and local area.

What we need from you

  • You will need the right to work in the UK.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in Project Manager role
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in managing UK based construction projects (site manager or project manager) ranging in value from £5m to £50m
  • You will be educated to degree or HNC/HND level in a relevant technical discipline
  • You will have proven experience of working with and managing contractors within a traditional construction project and you will have a good understanding of commercial issues affecting project performance.
  • Experience of working on Educational, Healthcare, Leisure or Defence schemes between £5 and £20 million is an advantage.
  • You will need to be able to drive and provide a full UK Driving check
