Macildowie are supporting a local employer of choice that has operations across various sites globally, to recruit a Commercial Finance Business Partner.

Working from the UK head office in Burton-on-Trent, you'll work on supporting the business with operationaland strategic elements, ensuring the business grows revenues, profit and cash to their maximum potential.


So what is the job?

  • Ensuring the strategies of a growing technology area of the business are appropriate, coherent and well understood
  • Participating (in a finance capacity) in the process of establishing new business to support growth
  • Involvement in customer negotiation and commercial review
  • Analysis and interpretation of revenues, costs, overheads, EBITDA and cash flows of current business and new opportunities
  • Calculating and reporting ROI and other applicable metrics including KPIs
  • Contributing to the formation of a robust plan and business case for commercial deals and reviewing contracts. Positively challenge business performance and strategy, bringing new ways of working that add value to the business
  • Identifying areas of cost and revenue synergies to positively streamline the business and maximise returns and helping with their realisation
  • Work closely with sales and account management in the pricing & sales strategy.
  • Ownership of the financial planning processes and presentation of changes and variances to latest current company financial plan
  • Contribute to improvements in financial and commercial procedures.
  • Ensure an appropriate mechanism to identify risks and subsequently work with different stakeholders to help mitigate these
  • Provide a detailed analysis of current performance against the plan at regular intervals and identifying how current trends can affect overall business strategy
  • Obtain and report P&L, Capex, Cash, Debt and KPIs at business review periods, budget rounds and other key dates to enhance understanding of business drivers and support business performance
  • Understanding the business case for any capital expenditure both tangible and intangible and ensuring the necessary policies are followed
  • Assist in developing controls and reporting for sales, commercial margin and capital to ensure compliance with company policies
  • Work with credit controllers to keep up to date on the business' current debt position

What are you like?

  • CIMA / ACA / ACCA qualified or international equivalent with Finance related degree or equivalent experience.
  • Extremely strong commercial acumen, including demonstrable experience of personally driving material growth.
  • Ability to perform complex investment appraisals.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong business partnering experience.
  • Ability to deliver and handle change.
  • Proactive and solution focused with high attention to detail.
  • Intolerance to failure and inertia.
  • Motivated and enthusiastic with the ability to meet tight deadlines and produce high quality work under pressure.
  • Hardworking and reliable with excellent time management skills.
  • Technology Industry experience desirable.
