Job Purpose
To deliver gas network simulation and modelling analysis to ensure the gas transmission system continues to transport energy to our customers safely and reliably across a range of timescales.
To support the development and prioritisation of investment and commercial proposals against a range of financial, regulatory and commercial incentives.
Responsibilities
Deliver simulation of the gas National Transmission System to deliver a range of business requirements including:
- The development of operational strategies to ensure that safety is maintained, and customer requirements are met, in real and close to real time.
- The development of operational strategies to deliver access to the network to facilitate maintenance activities, both planned and unplanned.
- The consideration of a range of future forecasts and scenarios to develop future strategies for the network, including asset and nonasset solutions
- The development of net zero strategies of a hydrogen network including the repurposing of NTS assets and new build solutions
- Maintain and develop the offline and online hydraulic models and supporting tools for use within relevant network analysis teams
- Deliver analysis of supply and demand data including development and implementation of tools and processes to populate and analyse network simulations
- Obtaining support as necessary from Senior Network Analysts, develop ability to work independently
- Documenting and communicating the results of Network Analysis to a range of internal and external stakeholders
Required
- Excellent numerical ability and demonstrable logical thinking.
- Proven problemsolving ability.
- High level understanding of factors that impact the movement of a gas.
- Previous use of network analysis hydraulic simulation software desirable but not essential.
- Appreciation of the physical operation of the NTS, plant and equipment desirable but not essential.
Qualifications
